As part of our efforts to stretch our bonds with and within the Caribbean region, we have embarked on the restoration of Casa Toledo. Built in the 16th century, casa Toledo served as residence to Doña María de Toledo, first American vicereine. It is situated in the historical Plaza María de Toledo which constitutes one of the most important Spanish colonial conglomerates in the Dominican Republic. This plaza is located between Isabel la Catolica and Calle las Damas across from Calle Gregorio Luperon. Originally named Calle de la Fortaleza / The street of Strength or Fortress when it was made in 1502, it is the oldest street in the Americas.
